Privacy Policy — Recenzo

Recenzo ("the App") provides product review collection and display services for Shopify stores. This policy describes what data the App processes, why, and how it is handled.

Information we collect

When a merchant installs the App, we access and store:

• Store information: store domain, product data (titles, handles, IDs) needed to attach reviews to products and keep rating metafields in sync.
• Order information: order IDs, fulfillment status, customer name and email for fulfilled orders — used solely to send review request emails and to mark reviews as verified purchases.
• Review content: ratings, review text, reviewer names, photos, and merchant replies submitted through the App's forms or imported by the merchant. Reviewer email addresses are stored only as one-way hashes on reviews; the plain address is kept only on pending review-request records so emails can be delivered.

How we use information

• Displaying reviews and aggregate ratings on the storefront.
• Sending review request and reminder emails on the merchant's behalf.
• Marking reviews from actual buyers as verified.
• Computing product rating statistics and SEO structured data.

We do not sell or share personal data with third parties for marketing. Emails are delivered through our email service provider (Resend). Data is hosted on Fly.io in the EU region.

Data retention and deletion

• When a store uninstalls the App, its data is deactivated immediately and deleted following Shopify's shop/redact webhook.
• Customer data deletion requests (customers/redact) are honored by anonymizing reviews and deleting review-request records for that customer.
• Data access requests (customers/data_request) are forwarded to the merchant with the stored data.
